Important Dates for International Applicants
Please review all dates below for information on International Specific deadlines. We understand that this is a long process, and we wish to give you as much notice as possible. Our deadlines were determined based on the average time it takes to issue a new Visa and I-20. If you have questions or concerns, please email apply@makeschool.com.
All documents should be sent electronically to apply@makeschool.com or physically to “Make School Attn: International Admissions 555 Post St. San Francisco, California 94102”.
Please be aware that Admissions Documents differ from Enrollment Documents. If admitted, you will be expected to submit the required documents to receive your I-20 and begin your education successfully at Make School.

Make School will only accept applications and offer rolling admissions after this date based on available space in the program.

The earlier deadline for international applications reflects the extra time it takes to receive an international admissions decision and Visa appointment wait times. The Admissions staff strongly suggest that international applicants apply as early as possible to prevent delays.

International Applicant REQUIRED Documentation
In addition to the written application and official transcripts, international applicants are required to submit the following supplemental information for an admissions decision.
We are unable to make an admissions decision without all required admissions documents. Please be aware that due the COVID-19 causing delays in many ordering systems for evaluators, ordering your documents as early as possible is the best course of action to get a decision in a timely manner.

Demonstrate English Proficiency
International applicants from countries where English is not an official language must demonstrate English proficiency.
Proficiency can be demonstrated with one of the following:

An official transcript demonstrating that the applicant completed one academic year in the U.S. school
system during high school/secondary school. An official transcript demonstrating that the applicant
completed one academic year in the U.S. school system is required to fulfill this option.

SAT: 1140 Combined Math and Evidence-Based Reading (minimum Reading score of 25) and Writing (M + ERW).

ACT: 20 Composite

TOEFL Score: 550 Paper, 213 Computer, or 80 IBT. (TOEFL

Completed Level 112 Intensive Program English for Academic Purposes (EAP) at an ELS Language Center.

Successful completion of 36 transferable credits from an institution in the United States.
Credential evaluation of official high school, college, and university transcripts
Credential evaluation of any official high school, college, and university transcripts, diplomas, certifications, and/or test scores. Transcripts from institutions outside the United States must be verified and evaluated for academic degree equivalence.
All candidates are required to use a
NACES
approved Independent Credential Evaluator for a Course by Course credential evaluation. You may use
any NACES
approved evaluator
so long as they meet the Course by Course analysis standards.
If you choose
SpanTran
as your credential evaluator, you must select the
Divisional Course Analysis
option instead of the Course by Course analysis.

- Important Note: the Credential Evaluation must be completed
for us to make an admissions decision. We cannot waive this
requirement.
- Important note: if you are currently enrolled in school and
have in-progress grades, you will have to order a Credential Evaluation for both
admissions and enrollment if admitted. This means that if you are admitted into
the program and choose to enroll, you will need a secondary Credential Evaluation
with all final grades to begin courses in the Fall of 2021.

Completed International Financial Aid Form
Complete the International Financial Aid form on your applicant dashboard once it goes live. If you will not be 24 years of age by September 01, 2020 then you must complete this form with a parent or legal guardian.
Foreign Language Completion
Please note that if you do not currently meet the Foreign Language Completion requirement and you know that you will not be able to complete any of these potential options to fulfill this prerequisite prior to enrolling in August, then you will be expected to complete 2 semesters worth of foreign language while attending Make School.
Besides your native language (and Proof of English Proficiency for those applying from non-English
speaking
countries), you will be required to show that you have met our Foreign Language prerequisite for
enrollment.
This is a secondary language requirement for those from English speaking countries, and a tertiary
language
requirement from those in non-English speaking countries. This requirement may be fulfilled in many ways.
Make School will accept:
- 2 Years of successful completion in High School/Secondary School of the same language
- 2 Semesters of successful completion in College of the same language
- Successfully passed a foreign language assessment from Make School’s partner university, Dominican
University of California
, or another recognized and accredited universities’ foreign language exam.
- Successfully passed the Advanced Placement (A.P.) Exams
for French, German, Spanish, or Latin with a minimum score of 3.
- Successfully passed the International Baccalaureate (I.B.) Higher Level (HL) Exam
for a secondary language with a minimum score of 4.
- SAT Subject Exams
- Chinese with Listening (minimum score: 520)
- French with Listening (minimum score: 540)
- German with Listening (minimum score: 510)
- Modern Hebrew (minimum score: 470)
- Italian (minimum score: 520)
- Japanese with Listening (minimum score: 50)

- Spanish with Listening (minimum score: 520)
- CollegeBoard CLEP Exam
- French Level I & II (minimum scores: 50 & 59)

Examples of what successful completion through High School/Secondary School and College would mean:
- If, for example, you are a German citizen applying to Make School, and you successfully completed 2
years
of Mandarin in high school/secondary school with a final grade that is equivalent to a ‘C’ in the
United
States grading scale, then this requirement would be met.
- Or, if you are a Congolese citizen applying to Make School, and you successfully completed 2
semesters of
Spanish during your undergraduate study with a final grade that is equivalent to a ‘C’ in the United
States grading scale, then this requirement would be met.
- Chinese with Listening (minimum score: 520)
- French with Listening (minimum score: 540)
- German with Listening (minimum score: 510)
- Modern Hebrew (minimum score: 470)
